Michael Jarman
Michael Jarman is one of the household names in the competitive Excel modeling circuit; having won ModelOff in 2018 and came runner-up in the MEWC in 2021. He was also voted Financial Modeller of the Year at the 2021 Excel Summit. Michael now leads the model development practice at Operis; in his 9 years at which he has worked on over 150 transactions across all six continents (and space!) with a combined value of over $150bn.
In Michael’s time at Operis, he has seen virtually every modeling error you can imagine (and some you can’t!). In this session, Michael will share his experience with the models he has seen to teach why model risk is critically important (and underrated by many), where you should look for errors, and how to find them. He will additionally give an insight into how Operis, the world’s premier model auditor, approach an audit, as well as share some handy tricks you can apply to your own models.
